Light Bulb Guidelines & Safety

Recommended Bulb Type: Use E27 LED bulbs only, please avoid incandescent bulbs as they get extremely hot and may cause our 3D printed parts to melt.

Recommended Wattage: Use bulbs up to 10W LED

We would recommend energy-efficient LED bulbs to ensure longevity and prevent heat-related issues.

Re-engineered from our Iconic Luna Lamp.

Corrugated Pattern Concept

The Luna D Lamp is a concept design I made through my exploration of implementing corrugated patterns in lamp design through 3D printing. I originally developed this effect to see how far I can push the boundaries of form and texture, and between light and shadow. The Luna Lamp was the first lamp designed with this concept, consisting of 25 meticulously designed pieces arranged to achieve the corrugated effect. From a top-down view, it appears as a seamless, rounded shape, while from the side, it takes on a structured, sculptural presence.

I re-engineered the original concept, doubling the number of individual pieces to exactly 50. Each piece was carefully sketched, and calculated to contribute to the overall form of the lamp. By increasing the number of layers, I achieved a softer, more refined look. Unlike the Luna Lamp, which makes a bold statement in a regular room, Luna D carries a subtler elegance while maintaining its distinctive sculptural presence.

"D" in Luna D

"D" in Luna basically stands for Dumpling. I like to explore using different shapes when it comes to conceptualising my designs, and the Luna D was originated from a particular shape of a chinese dumpling, 小笼包 . It may sound ridiculous or funny, but it is what it is. My designs is a reflection of how I conceptualise and visualise random objects around me, and it just so happened that Luna D took it's shape after one of my favourite dumplings, enriched with chinese culture.
